James Thurber Satire
The Little Girl and the Wolf
I liked this story because of the funny ending. This story is a satire of Little Red Riding Hood. Thurber surprised me with the ending of the story when she shot the wolf. He used satire in the ending and with the moral. He also uses satire with the title of the story.
The Bear
I liked this story because it was funny. The bear thought he was doing something good but it really had the same effect of getting drunk. This story did not surprise me as much as the first one did. He uses satire in the second half of the story when the bear is doing the same things he did when he was drunk.
The Princess and the Tin Box
I liked this story because of its surprising ending and moral. This story is not similar to any I’ve heard before. I was surprised when the princess picked the platinum box, I thought she was going to pick the tin box because she had never seen it before. He uses satire when the princess does not pick the tin, and in the moral.
